:star::star:The results have been announced! Winners will be sent their points/gifted their premium membership and rosettes will be uploaded soon. Judge's choices will be announced later this week:star::star:

Firstly - thank you so much to everyone who entered - this show wouldn't have been anything without you! I loved looking at every entry, and I hope that you enjoyed making them!

The images were scored out of 10 based on the following four areas:
1 - Fitting the brief - does it fit the (admittedly very short) brief?
2 - Use of colour - how have they used colour, and does it match up with the brief?
3 - How does it compare, colourwise, to the rest of the artist's gallery?
4 - Challenge - has the artist challenged themselves? This included all factors of the image, not just colour

The images were then ranked from highest to lowest in each area, and assigned a new mark based on their position (eg Fred got 8 in area 1, Joan got 5 in area 1 and Nicky got 4 in area one - their overall marks in area 1 were Fred 3, Joan 2 and Nicky 1). Those four scores were combined and that gave the final score.

I can provide scores for those who want them if requested, and if you would like a lengthier comment about your image I can do this for you too - please send me a note if you would like either of these.

Colour Theme Class
1st prize
:thumb371142828:
AetherHeights really went all out with the pink - from boots to sunrise! This image is a contrast from the other pictures in her gallery and it radiates colour

2nd prize
Eyes On Fire.. by x-XInsomniaX-x
x-XInsomniaX-x took the ball and ran with it with this image. Not only does it really feel golden and opulent, but she stepped entirely out of the comfort zone that HARPG usually provides and has given us a glorious space scene

Joint 3rd prize
Classic Pair by sVa-BinaryStar and   Red by Shotechi
sVa-BinaryStar has presented a beautifully soft vision in blue and sepia - the only entrant to this class to use two colours. The image is soft, subtle and pretty - it reminds me of a faded photograph.
Shotechi's image is the opposite - bright and vibrant! She is a master of coloured pencils and this picture in red very believable.

When It Rains, It Pours by PonyCool42
I love how much detail and how technically accurate this picture is, and it's nice to see that the horse has been shaded using green. However, it would have been nice if the fence and rider had a bit more 'green' too them.

6th
Koha at Liberty by shannor
This is a beautiful picture. However, I did not think that 'brown' was a really appropriate choice for this show - which, after all was about being as bright and colourful as possible.

Bright as You Can Class
1st prize
..:: The Romanse of Stars and Moon ::.. by agata507
agata507 really embraced the brief and just focussed on the two colours she chose for the image - blue and yellow. It works really well, and the decision to contrast the rider's yellow shirt with her royal blue hair was a great one!

2nd prize
Never Gonna Happen by MelonHeadGirl
Can you say hot pink? Of the entrants in this class, MelonHeadGirl chose the two brightest colours and attacked them with a will! The colours are in the background as well as the horse which ties the image together really well.

3rd prize

TackRack has chosen two colours that are often very difficult to work with - red and green. The former can often look orange or brown, and the latter can often look just plain brown and swampy! She's pulled it off beautifully, and the reddish 'aura' on the horse's dark side is a very nice touch.

4th
Complementary by Shotechi
Another bright and beautiful image from Shotechi!  The decision to reverse the normal direction of light was really bold, and I love the dramatic position of horse and rider. This was just pushed out of the top three by some very tough competition.

At the edge of the World by serranef
This is an incredibly striking and beautiful picture, but for me it doesn't scream 'colour'. I found it difficult to see what the two colours chosen for the shading were, and I felt that this picture was more about light and shadow than it was about colour. It is a fantastic picture - but I didn't quite see its place in this class.

Experimental Class
1st prize
Expression by Shotechi
One word - frottage. If that's not experimental I don't know what is! Shotechi embraced the word 'experimental' and used not only experimental colours but experimental techniques too - and even her signature is in different colours!

2nd prize
Cheerful moment by Rina-glxy
I can't tell you how delighted I am to see something in oil pastels! They are a fiendish medium to master, and Rina-glxy has manipulated them brilliantly, using both their smooth, almost creamy texture and their vibrant colours to create something really different.

3rd prize
Exploding by Moeso
This was the first entry I got in the show, and from this it was clear it was going to be a great competition! The way that Moeso has cropped the image and soft background are a truly wonderful contrast to that eye-popping blue shading.

:thumb373734519:
The very pale lines in this are just to die for - it's a complete contrast to the soft colouring 0cto4ttack used on the horse and it makes him seem almost futuristic - always a good thing in my book! This was the only partial body entry in the show, but the strong use of colour and light and the massive contrast with the rest of the artist's gallery make it well worth its place.

Jumping Abstract by shannor
The choice of colours in this picture is an interesting one - I don't think many people would be brave enough to pair lilac with that bright turquoise background! The movement and motion in the horse's mane and tail are what make this image for me, but it does feel a little bit rushed - it would have been nice to see more thought go into the background.

6th
March Of The Mad Hatter by DovieCaba
This picture is loads of fun - it's clear that DovieCaba enjoyed herself with this picture! The vibrant colours behind and cartoony pose and expression made me smile, but I would've liked to see more bright colours in the horse too - not just her hat and that bright background.
